Membership in the marching band requires strenuous physical exercise and the ability to play the difficult literature encountered in the activity. Marching band is an extracurricular activity, just like sports at the High School. Marching band requires a commitment and dedication just like sports and therefore we expect more from students who wish to march. 2013 was a banner year for our marching band program and to maintain that excellence each year requires dedication and devotion to put in the time to learn the show by both students and parents alike. Students participating in marching band are expected to enroll in a concert band for the second semester per the director’s assignments. Exceptions are by the discretion of the director. The marching band performs in the fall only.
The Color Guard is open to students interested in dance, choreography and movement. The color guard is vital part of the marching band and rehearses after school. Appointment to color guard is by audition only. Auditions are usually held in April or May.
